Welcome to San Carlos Pack 153

Formed in 1989 and sponsored by the San Carlos Lion's Club, Cub Scout Pack 153 is part of the Redwood District of the Pacific Skyline Council, Boy Scouts of America. We do not subscribe to any political agenda and welcome boys from all ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds in first through fifth grades. Most of our members attend Arundel Elementary and St. Charles Schools, but we welcome other boys in the area who are interested in joining Cub Scouts.

We at Pack 153 understand you and family are busy and at times need to juggle around competing interests in the same household. We prioritize family members' interests in our outings and events. We encourage you to include any other family members/siblings to attend and participate whenever possible.

We are an organization that holds events each month of the year, but it would be unlikely that any one boy could attend all. We offer these events because we know that by having a variety of activities, each boy and family can select those that interests them. We look forward to continue putting together with you a fine Scouting program that your son will enjoy and learn from. Let's create some great memories!

2014 Pinewood Derby

Posted on Mar 19 2014 - 2:01pm

Pack 153’s 2014 Pinewood Derby competition will be conducted on Friday, March 28th, 2014 at the Arundel School Multi-Use Room and will begin promptly at 6:00pm. The purpose of this event is for each scout to have fun working together with a parent and his fellow scouts toward a common goal-racing in the Pack's Pinewood Derby. The scout will learn to implement designs, use tools and participate in a function that helps him understand competition and good sportsmanship. The Pinewood Derby competition usually lasts two to three hours. Pizza and water will be served during the event and provided by the Pack.

Scouting For Food Part 2

Posted on Nov 14 2013 - 4:51pm

I will be coordinating the Pickup Day (on Sat, Nov 16) for this “Scouting for Food” drive. The Second Harvest closes at 1 p.m. on Nov. 16th; so I’d like to have everyone drop off their collected food at the Arundel School lower parking lot on Alameda de las Pulgas between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. I realize and understand we all have busy schedules and if this window of time doesn’t work for anyone, please contact me and I will do my best to accommodate an alternative time and place for the pickup.

Scouting for Food Dropoff - Sat. Nov. 9 - Arundel School dropoff lot

Posted on Nov 8 2013 - 6:04pm

It's time to go Scouting For Food. Every fall, scouts all over the U.S. collect food so less fortunate people can enjoy Thanksgiving. BSA provides door hangers that explain what Scouting For Food is and directions for what to donate. The plan is simple: this week we drop off hangers, and next week we pick up food.
